With just a few days left before the commencement of the 9th edition of the G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20 Summit), leaders from G20 member countries and invited nations have started to arrive in New Delhi. The P20 Summit, which follows the groundbreaking declaration adopted at the New Delhi Leaders’ Summit in September, aims to bring parliamentary perspectives to global governance challenges and explore how parliaments can effectively contribute to addressing them.

One significant highlight of this year’s summit is the participation of the President of the Pan African Parliament, making it the first time an African representative has attended the P20 Summit in India. This development comes after the African Union’s inclusion as a permanent member in the G20 grouping, as was decided during the New Delhi Leaders’ Summit.

Chaudhury with a warm and traditional Indian reception.

Further, the presiding officers of both Houses of Parliament from Australia, Senator the Hon. Ms. Sue Lines, President of the Senate of Australia, and the Hon. Mr. Milton Dick, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Australia, arrived in New Delhi on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Member of Parliament, received the distinguished guests upon their arrival.
