IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Demands Unconditional Release from Solitary Confinement
The unlawfully detained leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has called on the people of Biafra and the world to remember his innocence regarding the charges brought against him by the Nigerian State. Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, delivered the message after visiting Kanu in solitary confinement.
Another IPOB activist and organiser, Agba Awo based in Finland, has declared that until federal government released Nnamdi Kanu, all 5 states in the South East will remain on lock down.
The message highlights that all charges against Kanu were struck out by a Nigerian Appellate Court in October 2022, and his continued detention is unconstitutional. Kanu also expressed concern over criminal activities in the South-East region and dissociated himself from unauthorized sit-at-home orders. He warned of the economic consequences of such actions and urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to release him unconditionally and obey court orders.
