Prince Estifanos Matewos Praises Trump’s Commitment to Global Peace in Congratulatory Message

In a royal gesture of goodwill, His Imperial Highness Prince Estifanos Matewos of the Ethiopian Solomonic Dynasty extended his congratulations to President Donald J. Trump on his historic re-election and second-term inauguration. In a letter addressed to the president of the United States on Tuesday, the Ethiopian Prince praised President Trump’s plans to foster global peace and security and expressed optimism in the strengthening U.S.-Africa relations rooted in respect and fairness.

Prince Estifanos Matewos was invited to the inauguration, and appreciated the gesture, despite his inability to be physically present at the ceremony. He looks forward to working closely with President Trump’s administration to bring peace in Africa, prosperity for all, among other matters of mutual interest, said the letter.

He recalled initiatives of the U.S. State Department Bureau of African Affairs, i.e African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and support of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which he said promote mutual prosperity through trade partnerships with industry across the continent. He also advocated for Africa’s inclusion as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and invited President Trump’s support for African Union’s bid.

As a recognized global leader, Prince Estifanos was named among the MIPAD Global 100 Under 40 in Politics and Governance in 2024. Through his roles as the President and Ambassador of the United Africa Royal Assembly, and Pan-African Parliament respectively, he is one of Africa’s youngest influential leaders making history  promoting African unity and development. In 2024, Prince Estifanos Matewos was proclaimed an honorary Georgia citizen for his service to the state, with the rights and privileges as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia.
