Themed ‘Catalyzing the continent’s trade potential’, the Africa Debate 2023 will bring together leaders from across the continent to discuss the future of African trade and how the private sector can best support and prepare for a more integrated – and more competitive – African trade environment.

The Africa Debate Forum will be hosting its annual debate and networking event this May 11th in London, UK. Among the notable personalities expected in attendance is the Guest of Honour H.E. Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia, and H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the AfCFTA Secretariat.

According to the event’s programme , keynote speakers representing the private sector include: Michelle Chivunga, the Digital Trade Expert for AfCFTA & Co-Founder & CEO Global Policy House; Alex Okosi
Managing Director, Emerging Markets EMEA at YouTube; Hanan Sakr Head – Private Sector Engagement COP28 UAE; Admassu Tadesse President Em. and Group Managing Director Trade and Development Bank; and Samaila Zubairu President and CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation.

The organizer, Invest Africa, believes Africa’s trade outlook is at a crossroads and in-spite of ongoing global uncertainty, the continent finds itself more resilient to trade and external shocks than ever before. A positive outlook is being expressed as African countries aligning trade and investment policies behind the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
