Former Pan-African Parliament Manager Assumes Ambassadorial Role

In a recent diplomatic development in Africa, H.E Ntsiuoa C. Sekete, the former Information and Communications Manager of the Pan-African Parliament, has been appointed as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union. On Wednesday, Ambassador Sekete presented her Letters of Credence to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, in the vibrant capital city of Addis Ababa.

This appointment marks a pivotal moment for Lesotho as it seeks to strengthen its ties with the African Union and actively participate in the continental affairs. H.E Ntsiuoa C. Ambassador Sekete’s extensive background in managing information and communications at the Pan-African Parliament has equipped her with a deep knowledge of the issues that concern the African Union. Her appointment reflects the trust placed in her abilities and the confidence that Lesotho has in her to effectively represent their interests.

During the presentation of her Letters of Credence, Ambassador Sekete conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of His Majesty King Letsie III and the Government of Lesotho. She expressed Lesotho’s commitment to working closely with the African Union in addressing the diverse challenges faced by the continent, including regional integration, peace and security, and sustainable development.

In response, Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat warmly welcomed Ambassador Sekete to Addis Ababa and congratulated her on assuming her new role. He commended Lesotho’s commitment to the Pan-African ideals and expressed his confidence in Ambassador Sekete’s ability to contribute meaningfully to the African Union’s endeavors.

The meeting between Ambassador Sekete and Chairperson Mahamat also provided an opportunity to discuss key areas of mutual interest. Both parties emphasized the importance of fostering strong relationships between Lesotho and the African Union, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and socio-economic development.
