South African High-Level Delegation Strengthens Bilateral Ties with RJ Football Federation
In a bid to foster stronger diplomatic ties and promote sporting cooperation, a high-level delegation from South Africa paid a visit to the RJ Football Federation in Brazil last week.

A high-level delegation from South Africa recently visited the Football Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The delegation, led by Ambassador Vusi Mavimbela, discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries through soccer. The meeting was hosted by Rubens Lopes, the President of the Federation, and focused on strengthening cooperation and collaboration in the realm of football. The State of Rio de Janeiro is home to several prominent football clubs with a massive fan base. The delegation also included other notable individuals from the sports and diplomatic sectors, such as representatives from the Football Association of South Africa and Pan-African Parliament, as well as sports executives and a FIFA agent. The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Federation’s headquarters.
The delegation included: the Ambassador of South Africa to Brazil, Vusi Mavimbela; Bennett Bailey, vice-president of the Football Association of South Africa; Bridgette Motsepe, Pan-African Parliament Ambassador for Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Development in Africa; Antonio Wadee (CEO of King of Africa Sports); Mr. Tichaona Mawoni (Director of King of Africa Sports); Mr. Antonio Barradas (Director of King of Africa Sports). Mr Mathethe, President of Africa Football Legends; and Marcelo Sander, FIFA agent.
