AU ECOSOCC to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with Flagship Event in Accra
The Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union (AU) invites stakeholders to join in commemorating its 20th Anniversary in Accra. This milestone event will highlight ECOSOCC’s two decades of contributions to Africa’s development agenda, launching ECOSOCC National Chapters across AU member states.
The #ECOSOCC20 flagship commemorations will feature a series of meticulously planned activities, beginning with an exhibition on ECOSOCC’s journey alongside the AU Peace and Security Architecture (APSA). The centerpiece will be a grand Gala Event on 17th July, drawing stakeholders including AU Member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and international partners to reflect on ECOSOCC’s evolution.
The 2024 Citizens Forum, a key component of ECOSOCC20, will focus on democracy, institutional resilience, and development for a peaceful Africa. Additional events such as a Media Breakfast and partner-sponsored side-events will enrich the commemoration.
Anticipating over 300 physical participants and 1000 online attendees, ECOSOCC20 aims to foster inclusive dialogue across diverse sectors and backgrounds. Coinciding with the AU’s 6th Mid-Year Coordination Meeting, the event will gather CSOs, government officials, development partners, and the African Diaspora, facilitating impactful discussions on peace, democracy, and development in Africa.
