President of Zimbabwe Proclaims Date of National Elections for 2023

Harare, Zimbabwe – The President of Zimbabwe has today issued a proclamation fixing the date of the upcoming national elections. According to the document, the election to the office of President, as well as the election of members of the National Assembly and councillors, will be held on the 23rd day of August, 2023.

The proclamation, which was officially designated as Proclamation 4 of 2023, also outlines the necessary procedures for the election, including the possibility of a poll being taken if necessary in accordance with the Electoral Act.
In addition, the proclamation fixes the 2nd day of October, 2023 as the day of the runoff election to the office of President, if such a poll becomes necessary in accordance with the Electoral Act.
