United Africa Royal Assembly Extends Support to President Samia Suluhu Hassan
The United Africa Royal Assembly (UARA), representing African traditional leadership authorities, has extended a hand of friendship and support to Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan as she assumes the role of Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence, and Security Cooperation.
In a statement issued by Prince Estifanos Matewos, President of the UARA, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with SADC states, emphasizing the importance of intelligence sharing and promoting conflict resolution through dialogue and diplomacy. “We, the UARA, stand ready to support President Suluhu Hassan and the SADC in fostering peace and stability across the region,” said Prince Matewos.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan took on her new role during the 44th SADC Summit held in Zimbabwe on August 17. She succeeds Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema, inheriting the responsibility of overseeing regional political, defence, and security issues within SADC.
